When your heart is broken, or you are confused about which career path to follow, or when you need comforting, who comes to your emotional rescue? Well, boyfriends, husbands and lovers come and go, and they rarely want to stick around to hear about your emotional upheavals. During these troubling times, it’s our girlfriends who deliver!

I am blessed with an amazing circle of girlfriends. Girls who won’t stop talking about their dramatic lives and allow me to do the same, girls who constantly strive to be better women and show me ways to exceed my expectations, and girls who are generous by all counts – if you’re reading this, you know who you are! I wanted to dedicate this post to these amazing girlfriends, hoping our readers will also celebrate their girlfriends. Inevitably, most of us already have the following broad category of girlfriends in life. Yes, she’s the girlfriend who has mastered the head stance and can also dole out advice about nirvana through good karma credits! Each one of us needs a bendy Yogi in our lives to point out the bigger picture – “OM…let that sh** go!” The Yogi friend is always there to remind us about clean eating, clean thoughts and clean actions – much needed advice when we fall off track in life!
2. The Caregiver
There’s that amazing caregiving friend who nurses you back to health – the one who allows you to curl up on her couch, or fix you some soup when you’re unwell. She’s the closest to mom when mom’s not around. Caregiving friends are a blessing in our toughest days. It’s important however to give care just as generously as we receive care from our caregiver girlfriends!

You know the one I am talking about? The high-charisma lady who is almost always the center of attention. Such amazing women may steal your limelight, but will also help you get over a relationship or career-hangover in a jiffy! They have amazing social connections to get you into the liveliest of places and help you bask in the social limelight.

I eagerly await the pictures on social media accounts from my darling friend with a sever case of wanderlust. She looks serene, content and happy traveling to all corners of the world. Here’s how she does it – she picks a country each year, and just starts to save up. Before the end of the year, she’s already in her desired place!
6. The Sex Goddess
Remember Sex and the City? And remember how the ladies just knew how to have fun with men and spill the beans later? There comes a time in a woman’s life when she needs girlfriends to talk about “adult” experiences. As women we also need a couple of group leaders teaching us all about the amazing things we can experience as a woman!
